How this calculation works

Calculate attendance percentage, classes required to reach a target, and classes that can be missed safely. The result is calculated locally in your browser from the visible inputs, and the method below remains available for checking.

Current attendance = attended ÷ total × 100. Required future classes solve (attended + x) ÷ (total + x) ≥ target; safe absences solve attended ÷ (total + x) ≥ target and are capped by the entered remaining schedule.

Worked example

A student attending 68 of 80 classes can see the current percentage and how many future classes can be missed while staying at 75%.

Assumptions and limits

  • Every future class has equal weight and institutional rounding or condonation rules are excluded.

Questions people ask

How does the Attendance Calculator work?

It applies this displayed method: Current attendance = attended ÷ total × 100. Required future classes solve (attended + x) ÷ (total + x) ≥ target; safe absences solve attended ÷ (total + x) ≥ target and are capped by the entered remaining schedule. Values stay in your browser and are not submitted to a server.

What should I check before using the Attendance result?

Every future class has equal weight and institutional rounding or condonation rules are excluded. Institutions control their official grades and equivalence rules. Check the regulation for your programme and cohort.
